How we work

Four steps, every job


  1. 01

    Assess

    We look at the surface, the contamination, the material and the result you need. Every substrate behaves differently, so this comes before anything else.

  2. 02

    Test

    Where it makes sense we clean a small test area first, to confirm the approach works on your material before we commit to the whole job.

  3. 03

    Clean

    The laser is set up for that specific application and the work is done on your site. No dismantling, no transporting the part somewhere else.

  4. 04

    Verify

    We inspect the finished surface against what we agreed at the start, and hand it back to you.

Two methods

One of these is right for your job


Laser cleaning

Continuous wave fibre laser

Controlled laser energy lifts rust, oxidation, paint, coatings and carbon off metal without abrasive media or chemicals. It is precise work, so it suits edges, welds, threads and detailed components where blasting is too blunt.

Dry ice blasting

Non abrasive, no residue left behind

We also run dry ice blasting. The pellets sublimate on contact, so there is no spent media to sweep up afterwards. Tell us what you need cleaned and we will say which of the two methods fits it, or whether neither does.

Being straight with you

Where laser is not the right tool

Laser cleaning is not automatically the cheapest option for every large, open surface. On a big, flat, easily accessible area, abrasive blasting is often faster, and we will tell you that rather than talk you into the wrong method.

We don't believe laser cleaning should replace every traditional cleaning method. We believe it should be used where it makes the most sense.
  • Large open surfaces

    Where a surface is big, flat and easy to reach, blasting usually covers ground faster. Laser earns its place on detail, on edges and welds and threads, and where the mess of blasting is the real problem.

  • Unknown or sensitive substrates

    Painted, coated, polished or unidentified materials need to be confirmed before we clean them. That is what the test area is for.

  • Heavy grease and wet contamination

    The laser removes dry contamination. Heavy grease may need a wipe down first before we can do anything useful.

  • Anything we have not seen

    We would rather look at a photo and tell you it is not worth doing than take a deposit and find out on the day.
